“God divided the light from the darkness.” In other words, this means He separates those who are born again without sin through faith in the gospel of water (baptism), blood, and the Spirit that Jesus fulfilled, from sinners who have sin because they don’t believe.

It is not human righteousness but the superior love of God that saved sinners through His baptism and the cross. This is the love that abundantly saved all humanity from all the sins of the world. This is the supremacy of God’s love.

Bible says, “Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). “To be born again of water and the Spirit” is the only way we can enter the eternal kingdom of heaven.

Jesus came with water (baptism), blood, and the Spirit to eliminate all sins of this world. Dear friends, ‘the faith that overcomes the world’ does not depend on our passion, effort, or goodness, but comes through faith in the ministry of water, blood, and the Spirit through which Jesus Christ acted and saved us from all sins.

Why did Jesus say to this woman, “Neither do I condemn you”? It was because Jesus, who came as God’s Lamb to save humanity, underwent baptism from John the Baptist, humanity’s representative and the last High Priest, whereupon all the sins of the world were passed on to Him, including the sins of this woman caught in adultery.

He made all who believe in Jesus’ work of salvation holy children of God who are eternally sinless. Thus, the Old Testament atonement sacrifice was perfectly and eternally fulfilled once and for all through Jesus Christ’s work of salvation with water and blood in the New Testament.

John the Baptist represents Mankind, and Jesus represents Heaven. The baptism of Jesus performed when these two met was not a mere ceremony, but became the starting point of salvation where He bore all the sins of mankind, and it is the decisive truth of salvation that fulfills God’s righteousness.

Jesus took over all our sins with His baptism and has borne the judgment for our sins by dying on the Cross. Jesus gave us eternal redemption.

The name “Jesus” means “The one who will save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21)”. Jesus came to this earth, was baptized, shed His blood on the cross to remove all the sins of the world, and rose again. He gave new life to those who believe in this truth of salvation, enabling them to live eternally with the Lord in Heaven.

When we understand well about John the Baptist, we can clearly understand and believe in the gospel of the redemption of Jesus.
