Through whom can we believe in Jesus? It is through John the Baptist. We must properly understand and believe in the reason why John the Baptist was born as recorded in the four Gospels, who he was, and his ministry, so that we can clearly know and believe in the Gospel of salvation that Jesus has accomplished for us.

The Apostle John makes clear the gospel in his first Epistle: “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth. — ASV” (1 John 5:6–7).

God grants the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to those who believe in the Word of truth — the Word of water and Spirit — through which He works. This truth declares that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit occurs only for those who believe in the Word of salvation through the removal of sin, accomplished by the baptism and bloodshed Jesus received when He came to this earth.

Do you really believe that you are becoming righteous gradually by repenting every day? Salvation is to be justified once for all and to receive salvation once for all by faith in the work accomplished by Jesus Christ.

The Bible says that the way to overcome the world, that is Satan, is through faith in Jesus Christ who came by water and blood.

Those who think they have no sin cannot be saved. How can one be saved from sin if there is no sin to be removed? Why would a doctor be needed if one is not sick?

Why did God love Jacob? Jacob knew he had no righteousness and acknowledged his shortcomings, so he confessed that he was a sinner before God and sought God’s grace. Therefore, God called Jacob and saved him.

Jesus, who came to this earth as the Lamb of God, received baptism which was in the same form as the laying on of hands in the Old Testament to bear all the sins of mankind, shed His blood and died on the cross to receive the judgment for these sins in our place, rose from the dead, removed all our past, present, and future sins once and for all, and became the Savior of those who believe.

“God divided the light from the darkness.” In other words, this means He separates those who are born again without sin through faith in the gospel of water (baptism), blood, and the Spirit that Jesus fulfilled, from sinners who have sin because they don’t believe.

As the Bible states, just as in the Old Testament when the High Priest laid hands on the sacrifice to transfer all the sins of the Israelites to it, Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, the last High Priest from Aaron’s lineage, and through this all the sins of the world were transferred to Him. As a result, He eliminated the sins of all who believe in this truth of baptism, the antitype of salvation.
