What does it mean to do God’s will?
John 3:18 speaks about this:
“He that believeth on him is not judged: he that believeth not hath been judged already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
In other words, God’s will is that the purpose for creating mankind was to send His Son, Jesus, as our Savior to earth so that by believing in what He accomplished to save mankind from sin and judgment, believers may enter the kingdom of heaven.
The name “Jesus” means “He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). And “Christ” means “the anointed one” — who receives this anointing? The High Priest, King, and Prophet receive anointing. In this way, Jesus Christ was sent by the Father as the heavenly High Priest, the King of kings, and as the Prophet who proclaimed this truth.
Jesus came to this earth and fulfilled the Father’s will by saving all of us, mankind, from all sins, just as the name Jesus says, and allowing those who believe in that salvation and are without sin to enter heaven.
