What is the imperishable food that God speaks of?
Eating the imperishable food means believing in the One whom the Father has sent.
“Jesus answered and said, ‘This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.’” (John 6:29)
In other words, the bread that God the Father is giving now is not the manna, the bread that Moses gave during the wilderness period, but Jesus Christ. God the Father sent His Son as the bread of life.
That Jesus Christ was sent to this world as a lamb for all sinners who were destined for hell because of sin. And when He turned 30, He was baptized by John the Baptist, who was the representative of mankind and the last high priest, through which all the sins of the world were transferred to Jesus and He removed all the sins of the world.
And because ‘the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23)’, Jesus took away all the sins of this world through baptism and went to the Cross, was judged in our place, and saved us eternally from sin. And He rose again after three days and gave us eternal new life.
“Jesus answered and said, ‘This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.’” (John 6:29)
