Today, I would like to share, just as it is, the testimony (book review) of Aneka Simmons, a reader from the UK, who read Volume 1 of Pastor Paul C. Jong’s sermon series from The New Life Mission, “Have You Truly Been Born Again of Water and the Spirit?”

Hi, This is a review on the New Revised Edition on the free book entitled “HAVE YOU TRULY BEEN BORN AGAIN OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT?” By Rev. Paul C. Jong
This book holds immense value for everyone.
It speaks to Christians, to nonbelievers, and to those of various faiths in their pursuit of the truth.
One of the significant points that this book has helped me to understand is God’s heart’s intention towards us, His creation.
When a person’s genuine intention is misunderstood, it can cause great confusion.
However, this book explains that God created us with the intention of making us His children to live with Him eternally; however, the first humans, Adam and Eve, were deceived by Satan and fell into sin.
It’s important to understand that it’s due to our inherent disobedience that we became sinners who became separated from God and destined to face the condemnation in hell for our sins, just as it’s written in the book of Romans, chapter 6 verse 23, that
“the wages of sin is death.”
By reading this book, I came to understand that my heart was indwelt by the 12 kinds of sins that Jesus lists in the Gospel of Mark chapter 7 verses 21–23.
And, as a sinner, I couldn’t call God my Father.
It says in the book of Hebrews chapter 7 verse 26, that Jesus, our high priest, is
“holy, undefiled, and separate from sinners.”
It was a hard truth to accept, but it was easy to understand once I understood that it was all within the will of God and that God had not deviated from His plan to adopt us as His children through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus, who came to us by water, blood, and the Spirit (1 John 5:6).
It’s written in the book of Hebrews chapter 9, verse 27,
“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement.”
God is telling us that this world is not our eternal home. All will face the judgement after death, but His intention was to take to Heaven those who have been washed clean from all of their sins through faith in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
The main subject in this book is the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist.
It’s the first book of its time to preach the true and biblical reason as to why Jesus was baptized prior to His crucifixion.
Matthew chapter 3 verses 13–17, records the significant event.
When He was 30 years old, Jesus went to John the Baptist in the Jordan River. Jesus said to him,
“Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfil all righteousness.”
At His Word, John obeyed the Lord, laid his hands on His head, and submerged Him under the water to perform the baptism.
And in that moment, the sins of the whole world were transferred onto the body of Jesus, the Lamb of God.
By referencing the book of Leviticus, in particular, the day of Atonement as it’s recorded in Chapter 16 verse 21, the author explains that by the act of “laying on of hands,” this was the method by which sins were transferred from the sinner onto the sacrifice. Therefore, John laying his hands on Jesus to transfer the sins of the world onto Him is the fulfilment of the law of Atonement and also the fulfilment of the righteousness of God.
The indispensable truth is that Jesus came to this world in the flesh of a Man, through the body of a virgin. He was baptized by John the Baptist to take on the sin of the whole world, and as a result, He went to the Cross where He shed His blood and died to make atonement for our sins, but He rose from the dead the third day.
This is the gospel of the water and the Spirit, which is the primary topic of this amazing, Holy Spirit inspired book.
And if you also read this book, you will come to realise exactly how Jesus has washed away not only your past and present sins but also your future sins as well through the gospel of the water and the Spirit.
